Fabrications of large-area ordered nanostructure arrays
An active area of research has been the fabrication of large area nano-structures arrays of organic semiconductors for applications in field emission cold cathode. Recently, the researchers of Key Laboratory of Organic Solids have successfully fabricated the metal-organic charge transfer complexes of large area Cu-TCNAQ nanostructure arrays and discovered the remarkable field emission performance. They utilized a facile way to synthesize the Cu-TCNAQ complexes on the surface of Cu and controllable growth of large-area nanosturctured Cu-TCNAQ arrays films. Interestingly, they found tuning the growth parameters can significantly affect the morphologies of the resulting Cu-TCNAQ films. The nanowall array has shown excellent field emission performance with high current density and low turn-on field indicating the potential applications of organic charge-transfer complexes in field emission flat displays..
They also fabricated the large area nanorods array of κ-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(SCN)2 and TTF-TCNQ by organic liquid-phase reactions combination of low temperature process. An extension concept of association of adsorption and complexation is used for construction of large area ZnO-PPV nanorods array (
