Beijing, June 25, 2010: Signing ceremony of cooperation agreement on carbon nanotube between Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS) and SONY was held in ICCAS. The SONY delegates (7 persons) led by Dr. Osamu Kumagai, Senior Vice President of SONY and President of Materials Laboratories, came to ICCAS for such an event. They were warmly welcome by Professor Dujin Wang, Deputy Director of ICCAS, and related researchers.
Professor LIU Yunqi’s research group from ICCAS started the collaboration with SONY Corporation in 2005. Under the efforts from both sides, they have made great progress in nanotube research and carried out the related research in the application of nanotube since then.
Before the ceremony, Prof. WANG Dujin and Dr. Osamu Kumagai made short remarks on the cooperation and expressed their satisfaction. Then, Prof. LIU Yunqi reported the research progress of the year of 2009, researchers from both institutes discussed the details of the collaborated program. SONY delegation pointed out that the research achievements will lead to the future success and promote the further development between two institutes on a higher level. Finally, Prof. WANG Dujin and Dr. Osamu Kumagai signed the 6th year’s cooperation agreement.
