On May 11, 2010, Prof. Timothy J. Deming was invited to deliver a Molecular Science Forum Lecture at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS). On behalf of the ICCAS, Prof. Zhenzhong Yang awarded the certificate and medal of Molecular Science Forum Lecture Professorship to Prof. Deming.
Currently, Prof. Deming is the chair of the Department of Bioengineering of University of California, Los Angeles (ULCA), and he is also a full professor of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He has a broad research interests on organometallic catalyst design and synthesis, polypeptide synthesis, self-assembly of copolypeptides, and their biomedical applications. Also, Prof. Deming has been awarded many awards and honors, such as IUPAC Macromolecular Division Young Scientist Award, MRS Young Investigator Award, National Science Foundation CAREER Award, etc..
