  CALL FOR PAPERS

  (First Circular)

  WHEN AND WHERE

  November 7-11, 2010

To be held in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China

  TOPICS OF INTEREST

Based on the success of HTPM-IV and HTPM-V both held in Beijing (2006 and 2008), HTPM-VI will be held in Xiamen, Fujian province, China, in November 7-11, 2010, of which the scientific program will concern with all aspects of high-tech polymer materials, which have potential widespread applications in such diverse areas as optoelectronics and microelectronics, medicine and biology, aerospace and aviation industry due to their unique combination of physical and chemical properties.

This symposium is organized to bring together scientists and technologists interested in all aspects of high-tech polymer materials, to review and assess the current state of knowledge, to provide a forum for exchange and cross-fertilization of ideas, and to define problem areas which need intensified efforts.

  Topics of interest include:

  (1) Chemistry, synthesis and characterization of high-tech polymer materials, such as optoelectronic, photosensitive, high heat-resistant, high strong and tough, low/high dielectric, nonlinear optical, high transparent, medical and biodegradable polymers, etc.

  (2) Physical-chemical properties, such as thermal, mechanical, electric insulating, dielectric properties, gas separation, photosensitivity, liquid crystallizability, biodegradability, biocompatibility etc.

  (3) Applications, such as in optoelectronics, microelectronics, aerospace and aviation, energy and transportation, biomaterial and medical uses etc.

  METHOD OF PRESENTATIONS

Plenary lectures (30 min each), invited lectures (25 min each), oral presentations (20 min each) and poster sessions.

  ABSTRACTS

All speakers are requested to submit a two-page abstract, which could be typed on A4 paper (21 cm wide by 29.5 cm deep) with typing area of 16 cm wide by 23 cm deep. If there are several authors on the abstract, please underline the speaker.

  LANGUAGE

The official language of the Symposium is English.

  SOCIAL PROGRAM

Mixer, excursion and banquet will be held during the Symposium. Ladies programs are also planned.

  REGISTRATION

US $450 for each active participant and US $250 for each student and accompanied participants

  POST-SYMPOSIUM (Nov. 11, 2010)

Visit some places of historic interest and scenic beauty in Xiamen, such as Gulangyu Island and Fujian Tulou. Fujian Tulou, called as “the most extraordinary type of Chinese rural dwellings”, was mostly built between 12th to 20th centuries in mountainous area.

  EXPENSES FOR ACCOMMODATIONS

Expenses for hotels and meals will be about US $120 per day for a single person during the Symposium and Post-Symposium.

  WEATHER AND TRANSPORTATION

Xiamen, looking out to the Taiwan Strait, is a coastal, historic and scenic beautiful city in southeastern Fujian Province. Xiamen has the monsoonal humid subtropical climate with the average high temperature of 23.6 oC (74 oF) and low temperature of 16.2 oC (61 oF) in November when the HTPM-VI will be held.

It takes about 30 minutes by car from the Xiamen International Airport to the Hotel.
